Love Open Water Canary Wharf Update - 22nd May, 2026

A message from Love Open Water and a farewell to Eden Dock:

In 2022, Eden Dock was just water. Beautiful, overlooked, urban water, with no one swimming in it.

Love Open Water changed that.

When we first brought open water swimming to Canary Wharf, we didn't know quite what we were starting. We knew the water was there. We knew the potential was there. We knew we had the support of NOWCA for safety and professional guidance. What we couldn't have predicted was you, the community of swimmers who showed up, session after session, and made Eden Dock something genuinely special.

We're writing today with news that marks the end of that chapter for us, and we wanted to tell you ourselves, in our own words.

Love Open Water will be stepping back from Canary Wharf. Sea Lanes will become the new operator for all swimming at the lido and the wider dock area.

We want to be honest with you: handing this over is hard. Not because of the commercial arrangement, but because of you. The community that formed around Eden Dock did so because swimmers felt safe here. They came back because they were looked after. That culture doesn't happen by accident. It's the result of years of deliberate, safety-first decisions, and it is something we hope endures.

We are working closely with Sea Lanes to ensure the smoothest possible transition, and we're pleased to confirm that all prepaid swim credits purchased through Love Open Water will be honoured by them. If you have paid swim credits on account, details on how to access your credits will follow shortly.

To every swimmer, lifeguard, coach, volunteer, partner, and supporter who has been part of Love Open Water at Canary Wharf. THANK YOU

You came because you trusted us with your safety and your experience in the water, and we never took that lightly.

This isn't goodbye from Love Open Water.

We'll be relaunching at London Royal Docks very soon, and we hope to see many familiar faces there this summer. Join our NOWCA Wild group for more announcements - LOW LONDON ROYAL DOCKS
