Will the session still go ahead in bad weather / thunderstorms?

Modified on Mon, 12 Jun 2023 at 05:58 PM

If there are reports that we may experience a thunderstorm we will actively check the weather on the day.

We will aim to minimize disruption as much as possible to the whole session.

If there is a thunderstorm overhead (10 seconds and under from the lightning to the thunder clap), we will ask swimmers to exit the water immediately and wait for it to pass.

We will wait until we haven't heard thunder for 20 minutes and then re-enter the water.  You will be given as much times as you need to finish your swim unless it is coming to the end of the session.  The Venue/Duty Manager will apply a credit to the swimmers who have travelled to the venue and have missed out on their swim or where the swim has been cut short.

If an event is being held during normal session times, the above procedure will be followed and the start may be delayed. If the event cannot be held during the session, swimmers will receive a refund.

Updates will be posted to the venue Facebook groups
